We’ve been talking about the future of the iconic Charger and Challenger nameplates for the past couple of years, ever since it was announced that the legendary muscle cars as we knew them would be getting shelved forever. But we always knew it wasn’t going to be the true end, as Stellantis let us know early on they’d be quickly reintroducing the fan-favorite models on electrified platforms. The time has come for the future to be the present as the world’s very first electric muscle car – and thus far only – has been unveiled. We cannot wait for the brand-new 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona to arrive here in Topeka, Kansas, later this year.
Power Output & Range
In time, the Dodge Charger Daytona will be available with multiple energy options, which we’ll touch on shortly. But to start with, the standard 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack will be powered by a 400V propulsion system combining a high-voltage battery pack with a dual-integrated charge module and a pair of electric drive modules, one in both the front and rear of the vehicle. The battery pack offers a capacity of 100.5 kWh alongside a top discharge rate of 550 kW, while the motors combine for 670 horsepower. Dodge estimates the Daytona Scat Pack to deliver 260 miles of all-electric driving range.
Performance Dynamics
As with every vehicle on the Dodge lineup, engineers have packed the automobile full of next-generation features meant to enhance performance dynamics. For example, drivers will be able to select from a number of drive modes, including Auto, Eco, Sport, Wet/Snow, Drag, Track, Drift, Donut and even PowerShot, which offers an incremental 40-horsepower boost. Additional features meant to enhance performance include high-performance Brembo brakes, Brake by Wire eBoost, 20” wheels with staggered Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires, Dual-vale Semi-active Suspension, Line Lock and Launch Control.
Available Model Lineup
While not every model will be immediately available upon release, Dodge has given details on several different members of the all-new Dodge Charger multi-energy lineup. As mentioned, the main model will be the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack, which most of the details on this page have been about, but it will be joined by the Daytona R/T which sacrifices some power output for improved range. These two-door coupe models will eventually be joined by four-door versions of both as well as both the two-door Charger SIXPACK H.O. and four-door Charger SIXPACK S.O. which offer gas engines.
